Cold Shmoking..

Ran what will probably be the last cold smoke of the season as the temps. are increasing.
A whole Salmon, a big chunk of mature Cheddar and half a dozen eggs.
My fridge is now filled with tastyness.

Am smokin a 12lb Turkey on Sunday.
Have not used my WSM this year yet.
Lets hope the start of many happy
smokins and lots of fine weather.

Yum yum yummy yum.
I use an ice filled "cold finger" over the smoke to keep the temp down.
Seriously got to get some on. Good nudge Robert... Got my juices going.

Hot smoked a chicken for dinner guests last week, and Mackerel for pate today.

We have blast off, chimney lit.
The 5kg Turkey has been well rubbed and stuffed.
Hope that happens to me later
Just dont put me on the smoker.

You do indeed!
It is like a secret kept by some that do, from some that don't.
It can cost very little and provide tasty food at a fraction of the store bought cost.
I am not hardcore, but it is now a part of my life.

Smokers are like stills Brewhunter.
All different sizes, prices and styles.
I have a WSM, fantastic bit of kit.
Also have a small hot/cold fish etc
smoker also brill but a totally diff
animal.

Those ones look really nice but I think I'll start with something a bit cheaper, seems to be a bit of a mine field

The baby WSM not to painful.But my saturn 5
is gonna costya. All depends on what your cookin.
Easydrinker I think is doing mainly small stuff,
like Fish eggs cheese and all those yummy things.
I put 10 large racks of ribs on mine 46kg in total
to feed 85 people.

Small steps, This is how it works for me..
I get a small cheap one and get the Mrs used to the idea then BAM a new one arrives "it's the same just a bit bigger"

My latest hot smoker is a retired domestic pressure cooker.
My cold smoker is a standard sized galvanised dustbin.

I have a modified Bradley. Made a cold tube for it with a chiller. Make my own smokes.
Stunning cold smoked salmon.
Also does a nice hot smoked chicken great for ham/game.
Rubbish for pizza

Tonight I have a 3 Kg Salmon, some sad looking Pollack,a pound of Very mature Cheddar and half a dozen hard boiled eggs Shmoking away.
First use of Apple wood sawdust.
Breakfast tomorrow is looking decidedly good.
