Any good bread yeast is perfect, they as you
say are made to work at higher temps.
I find 26-28c a good temp.
I personally use Allinsons, cause the boss
buys it in Tesco with her weekly shop.
Therefore comes out the housekeeping not
my pocket. Up there for thinking and down
there for dancing.

Cheapskate that I am, I have been using Allinson's and Yellow split peas for years, (half the price of red lentils).
Add a few chopped Sultanas for extra yeastie food.
It works for me.
100g split peas
100g sultanas
10Kg sugar
50L water
And as much yeast as you fancy, between 75 and 150g works for me.
And keep it warm. I use aquarium heaters.

I have been making bread with distilling yeast. Spot on too.

Is that just cause your a stubborn old git Mash.

26-28c thats a good temp for bread yeast
I use heat pads linked to a temp controller
but there are loads of ways to keep temps
steady.
I am stripping TPW's ATM, 5kg sugar and
strip to 30%. Getting about 5ltrs per 25ltr
wash on my t500 alembic. Will then spirit
run on the T500 Reflux column.
Hopefully nice neutral.

I tend to wind my heaters up to 30(°C),
Works for me.

Do you prepare the split peas or just chuck them straight in raw?

I soak them, with the Sultanas for 12 or so hours and hit them with a stick blender until roughly chopped.
Then I proceed to the rest of the wash.

TPW's stripped and Spirit runs completed.
3with 5kg sugar 2 with 6. total cost £22
all but a few pence or £1 per ltr nertral
at 40%. Happy, nice voddie too.

£1 per litre that's gotta be good.

I reckon if you plant some kale you could almost half that though.

Mash you could save some, but the Kale, Tomato
Paste or Lentils are not the big cost, its the
bloomin sugar now 60p per kilo.
