For sure we all know that, but some of you people with fibre optic cables running under your pavements and sidewalks are living Riley's life.
I am sure that most of you people cannot understand how difficult it is to get online in a location like mine, and I am not remote, only 5 miles from Scotlands busiest motorway service station.
Anyway, my connectivity issues may explain why I may sometimes appear as a grumpy old old man.
Not really apologising, more stating for the record.
And I probably am a grumpy old man anyway!
How the F do you mod a forum if you cannot get online?...
Robert.

What ever happened to your fellow Mod and nemesis at times?
AM?
Seems he's left us for a while now.

AM has not been around for a few months now.

It has been intimated to me that AM may have had health problems.
Equally, if you can be bothered to read the posts that happened around his last one, then it seems that several of us not agreeing with him caused him to come up with a name change and final disappearance.
He has My respect for most of what he did here.
I did not agree with all that he stated, and so we sometimes fought.
To me that was healthy.
I now try to keep this forum from falling into some anarchic form, but do welcome people coming in and pushing and pulling it into some new directions.
Robert.

Yes, he disappeared very suddenly. He had gone away before for a while and then come back.

Guy on JBK does that, he's called "DITCH", he posts regularly, offends somebody or gets slapped from the site owner then vanishes for a few month then comes back.

I am in the same boat (when at home). I am currently in a hotel in Dubai, but home is rural Cumbria.
My home internet is via Europasat. Its a bit expensive when the kids are playing games or I am using a lot of data but not too bad.
Fibre optic is predicted for my postcode in 15 years!!!!!

Last year there was a farmer so pissed off with slow broadband. he built his own tower with a 4G dongle, 12v car battery, he said he couldn't run his office on the farm any longer.
I remember him on the tv news talking about it, he now has a sideline in selling his idea to others in the same boat. There's also a small hamlet where the folks got together and did something similar.

Same boat here. I have to say the idea of the 4G tower is quite appealing. However I don't always have 3G let alone 4G.

It is when you drop to WDCMA (think that is the right letter order)that you realise you are only 2&1/2G!
