I am running my first striping run on my T500. :D

So far, thanks to all the knowledge on this site, it has gone without a hitch.

Later I will be starting my first lentil wash and so the cycle continues...

don't forget, if you've got the T500 set up correctly (and it's neutral/vodka you're making) you don't need to faff around with strip then spirit runs.

Mine seems to happily produce 94% spirit. I sometimes will double distill but only if I've run out of RO water when making the sugar wash in the first place.

I use vodka star to make the wash and I always carbon filter the spirit.........

Thought for a moment I'd seen faff and carbon filter used in the same sentence.....

But I hadn't..... ;)

LOL. It would make sense to have them in the same sentence.

For me, that remains a matter of opinion. ;)

I have only used good old Allinsons's bread yeast for the last couple of years or more.
Are you asking a more obtuse question?

Robert.

Haven't been around much. I tend to avoid UK in January as I can live abroad for about the same money as feeding the gas meter at home while looking at boobs in bikinis instead of ...

(apologies to Robert and others that have to cuddle their chickens)

Today I spent a totally boring couple of hours cleaning the kitchen oven.
A job put aside for a shitty, sleety, snowy day like this one.
I did also oak 5 litres of my last batch of peated scotch. ;)
Tomorrow I plan to make a sputnik.
Not for Gin, but to finally sort out the second maceration of Satsuma skins to be run through old faithful Air still.
The initial maceration and filtration produced a superb orange tinged liquer, which when sweetened and cut with more neutral is very pleasing.
I looked at the resulting orange peel pieces, put them back in the demi john and added more neutral.
Tomorrow could be the day of reckoning.

Well I did make the Sputnik, the Smart Still run is almost finished running.
The first 500 ml came out at 75% and clear as water, smelling of orange.
Since then it is producing cloudy stuff.
I'll try and get to the bottom of this tomorrow.
Live and learn.
