Re: brew pump
Certainly looks like a nice piece of kit, as a suggestion how about trying one of these http://shop.solarproject.co.uk/Solar-Pr ... s-c-2.html they really are fantastic little pumps and as cheap as chips. I use them all the time brewing my Ales to recirculate and pump Wort from the Mash Tun to the boiler and another one to pump the boiling Wort through a plate heat exchanger into the FV.

Optic, you're a genius
seriously! You've just solved two problems I've been trying to find a cost effective solution for. Pump and power adaptor ordered and site bookmarked.

No problem mate, shame you've already ordered a power supply I use along with a lot of other AG brewers a Tattoo PSU from ebay for about £10, really makes controlling the speed of the pump a doddle

Re: brew pump
Aidans not the only one in the market for pumping ability optic.......
I need one to supply my condenser, plus screwfix seem to have one for 65 quid that says it will do a pump pressure of 3.6 bar so it will do fine for my RO filter.....
Plus there's a place on fleabay that does re-used plastic barrels, so I should be able to sort out rainwater recycling and management for a couple of hundred quid.......
Which isn't too bad IMO. I could pick up a 1000 litre IBC, but they're standard pallet size (1000x1200mm) and I haven't got space for that so rather than getting one of the rarer 1200x800 sized ones, 4 x 225 litre barrels is a better option......
Shame it won't get here before crimbo.......

Have you got a link for that and I'll have a look anyway. I have placed the order but I'm calling them on Monday to amend it to include a second pump as a backup.

A question for Optic
can't seem to find the link to the pump that you recommend
have you any other details or a name for the piece of kit or a new link

Geez...they've gone up in price...I payed about £12/£13 for mine a year or so.
What about this one Here and it's ok for hot water up to 100c for £12.28...only thing is you have to order from China...and their on their holls now.
edit..
Hold your horses this ones in Glasgow £11.99 also good for 100c.

@Mashy. The ones from the Solar Project are the ones I use. Never a single problem and really quiet too.

Re: brew pump
If you used one of these pumps, how big a water tank would you need to do a 25L wash in a LM still with a 2KW boiler so as not to need a cold water infusion to keep the temp down, that's instead of using a mains supply via a control valve.

Always give the hardest job to the laziest person because they will always find the easiest way to do it.
