I did the same today.

My local LHBS pointed it out so i thought id give it a whirl.

tastes good, i added it to 40% double distilled spirit.

very mellow.

as an aside i made a "smokey peaty" whiskey a few months ago for a mate and recently got to taste it. I made it from the hearts section of the run only and im sad to say it was distinctly lacking in "bite".
There was no bitterness and almost tasted like a honeyed whiskey than a whiskey.

Hi Mickey.

So I suppose some tails would have been useful?

Interesting though.

I wonder whether the air still is better at whiskey than a t500 then? (Debate alert, debate alert!)

A little taste is allowed mate, then put it away to mature wich is where it at this moment sat on some nice chared american oak for 6 week to remove or Camouflage the after taste from the essance.this oak is so nice it doesent need an essance if you leave it for 3 month it turns a nice colour and has no chemical after taste at all,but turns vodka into good tasting whiskey, thats why i was enquiring about the whiskey chips from Planet barbeque.maceration is the way to go for me for now
ps if you don't use them put a litre away and give this one a try it's not bad

Quite agree never gonna get as good as am Ardberg (my favourite) but the new classic single malt is IMHO the best premixed whiskey flavour yet
An old fellow and whisky officianado swore blind it was a real Speyside malt until the truth was revealed !
