I was lead to believe that using that type of controller was a definite no No?

It’s not blind faith though Rob, the oem packing produces high quality spirit at a high abv in a decent enough time....a controller might increase the quality by refluxing slower but I’m struggling to understand which bit of the actual process would be improved by a different packing material.

I've seen the comment about this from Myles and I read it as it is OK..I hope so as I'm ordering one for a spare, cheaper than the one I made years back.

To confirm. It's Ok.
You can to use a motor (inductive load) power controller on elements (resistive lead) but not the other way round.
PS I have ordered one too, so we are all it the cart if they don't work.
