Did the rehydration guide mention "Stir well" or "beat the living daylights out of it with a stick blender" :)

Yeast is a living organism - gently.

Did you blender the whole mash or the re-hydration?

tsp = teaspoon yes?
I used an airstone and pump to add the oxygen for 1hr
after 12hrs added more yeast just in case still nothing
and don't know why I did this but added another 1 tsp of DAP and it is started the was but no thick krausen.
it is working now but not like what people have posted I would say steady to good activity on the airlock
O well at least its going try try try again, It WILL not defeat me!.

Really dont like DAP there has got to be a
better way for you.
Have only used it twice, second time not long ago.
Whilst it may help the ferment, i think it
leaves off flavours in the final produce.
Just putting my two pennith in. ;)

boiled and halved raisins and boiled yeast.
boiling the yeast kills it and yeast are
parathingy ??!! they eat each other.
Boiling the raisins kills off any unwanteds.
Or boil some Kale and use the green water!!!

Modern teaching is to replace DAP with vitamin B1. So you have it covered.

I have to say I wouldn't have been surprised to read that you had 2 teaspoons of kitchen sink powder in there. :D

But that is not the issue, sorry to repeat myself but did you blender the whole mash or the re-hydration?

Aeration for 12 hours is probably too much as well. A 20 second beat with a balloon whisk is enough. And then only after boiling had been part of the making process.

Rehydrate and repitch.

Proud to say that I still use DAP.
It doesn't seem to feck up my washes.
Don't ask me why.
Different strokes for different folks, ;D

You are absolutely right. It does work & it won't fuck up a wash.
It does have a taste in a neutral, and there is a new thinking on better nutriention.

I still have some for certain issues.

Sparkoloid scares me more than DAP, having played with both.
I can only suggest you try for yourself, and decide for yourself.
I have spent time playing, and suggest that you do too.

I am getting more confused the more I think about this.
It looks like you are comparing chalk and cheese, DAP adds a nitrogen source to speed the yeast up and kale from what I can make out adds other types of nutrients that are not nitrogen sources, so quite different approaches to keep yeast happy, or as usual did I miss something?

Yeast nutriention has moved on significantly in recent years. Give it loads of grub (nitrogen - DAP) has been replaced with optimum nutrition for Life cycle.

Yeast doesn't need as much nitrogen as first thought, and the excess DAP results in product off flavours.
