Distilled Water

Postby Luckyshot » Thu Dec 12, 2013 5:51 pm

Hi All

With my Airstill I would double distil and water down the product with distilled water to 40 abv, I now have a T500 is it better to use distilled water to reduce to 40abv or just use tap water and then use a essencia filter, or just use tap water and don't filter

What do most of you do?

I use tap water to dilute my Low Wines and carbon filtered water to dilute my spirits ;D

My tap water is almost pH neutral, moderately soft (no limescale) and rarely treated. It may not be a highland spring, but I don't have the need to use anything else.

If my water wasn't so good, I'd just use cheapo water from the supermarket.

Yes,it's down to the quality of your tap water.
My tap supply is becoming more and more treated, used to be a lovely peated colour, and so soft. Now the chlorine shouts at you.
If I can't access clean rainwater,it's cheap supermarket bottled for me.
