joining Stainless and Copper requires Silver Soldering and my best efforts with propane and even with Mapp gas I couldn't get enough heat into the joint to get the silver solder to run.

In the end I got a friend who has an oxyacetylene torch to do the job for me and it took him all of two minutes to silver solder a 2" Stainless ferrule to the end of my 2" copper pot riser - very frustrating and I have no problem joining stainless to stainless with silver solder using Mapp Gas ???
