Yes I have tried using them a second time, its no where as good though as the first use seems to draw out pretty much all the original bourbon flavour, what I tend to do now is after the first use I pour of the finished whisky leaving the chips in the kilner jar then add a fresh 20grms of oak chips with a new batch of whisky made from the profile kit.The SS smokey blend ive not tried it, at a guess I reckon it probably tastes far to smokey?,if you do get the kit I would advise not using the recommended amounts of peat smoke its like drinking a bonfire if you do.

I asked the forum about these kits months ago when I just came on. I never got a reply now I know why it was all there in the first place and I find it just browsing the Forum. Thanks guys. I will get one of these kits now. I have been using the gobbler chips in my whisky and Bourbon and I like what I have tasted so far with one exception the smokey. The smokey is too smokey. However I have made up another with gobbler chips and labeled it for opening in the spring. Probably blow me away. As you know waste not want not.

Whiskey Profile Kits
Hi:
I\'m a beginner. I\'ve been making my own wine for a few years now, and just discovered the new power stills and turbo yeasts. I made my first bottles of Scotch and Brandy last week and was somewhat disappointed with quality of the result - I used the Ambrosia brand for both. Since my goal is focused on Scotch & Brandy (Cognac even) I was wondering if anyone with similar tastes but more experience could suggest the best brands to try. Any tips concerning what could be added to improve the flavour would also be very welcomed.
