Using Water From The Hot Tap.

As you do, laid there in bed in the early hours thinking about brewing. When I usually make a brew I either use hot kettle water to dissolve the sugar or do it on the stove top.
Does anybody here just use hot water from the tap for their brews. Here at home we have a combi boiler so would I be ok to just fill my fermenter with this to dissolve my sugar.
Cheers.

Whether it's AG beer, wine or spirit washes, I have always used hot water from our combi boiler and never had a problem.

Thanks Grunthos.
Can't believe I've been going the long way round for the last 30 years, especially more recently spending time getting the water temp right while making washes.
This is going to make it much quicker for me in the future.
Thanks

All the time. With everything. Better for the yeast too.

Cheers Mash.
Now I know this I'm now searching locally for a 100 litre blue barrel so that I can start brewing amounts that the 'big boys' do.
No point staying with those teeny 25 litres anymore.

I use water from any old tap to get a brew close to starting.
Leave to brew in my oft times fetid living space.
And then strip.
I am not making fine wine.

I am very curmudgeonly about my tap water as my last home only half a mile away had lovely water as does my father in law's just across the river, but mine is poor.
It is rank to drink, but OK for making wash with a little baking soda added. It seems fair to pay £1 for a gallon of nicer water to add to the spirit run when others pay £1 for carbon or whatever.
I think we can agree that an extra £1 per 3 or 4 bottles is worth it, even if the improvement is only in the mind or first 2 glasses of an evening.

I do not object in the least to buying water to dilute spirit that I have made.
I tend to use chlorinated tap water for my neutral, but then run it through the Essencia.
My whisky is only diluted with water bought in.
