I sent for one of these maybe last year...I was a little surprised how small it was.

I'm no expert on these things, but it just looked too small to do the job. That's when I built my own like a lot of guys do. However, RM has used one without any problems...so they obversely work ok. I'll have to find mine now just to see if it does the job.. :D

Do so, by all means, sir, I was only saying that I thought they may not live up to what we use them for. If they are ok then it's a very cheap way of controlling the heater.

I did just try to buy one of the sellers last two items, more from mischief than actual need.
My internet playing up has put it on hold :)

I thought the same.....

At first I looked and damn, you guys get some decent deals over there - they don't ship down under. Then I looked further and found another who does. Buckshee even. So, for sweet very little money, thing is on it's way to me. I don't have a use for it, but it hasn't cost me a limb, so what the.....

Is a good thing. Be proud 8)

I have heard of people using short lengths of inner tube to seal the joints on the 'take down' parts.

Beauty is the thing working and producing.
None of mine are beautiful to anyone but me. :)
But they do the do. :) :)

Just taken delivery of a 2kw heating element, 1" bsp thread, with cover! Just need to cut a hole in my tank and weld the port in now! PID controller should be arriving today too! I decided on the PID 'cos it was so cheap, and there's a video on how to wire it up....I'm like a kid at Christmas! ;D ;D
