So what is the idea then. I was expecting an alternative to or another kind of bottle swap.

The picture (thank you Icefever) is a snapshot of what was available to sample at the recent distillers get-together I attended.....well over 100 bottles of home-made spirit/liqueur and many different takes on similar recipes all in the one spot...... held over 3+ days, it was like the ultimate bottle swap w/out postage (and a great meet-and-greet).... ;)

Got it.

Yeah. Meet up.

But the geography could be difficult.

Should we vote on where?
North - middle UK - south?

Equal distance north & south to be fair..how many would stick their head above the parapet ???
It could be a very enjoyable event...perhaps under the guise of a homebrew get together.
It couldn't be arranged in an open forum though....it would need a closed section..or maybe use the PM between those interested..

Well it just so happens that there is an annual home brewers' get-together, and it will be held at Market Bosworth in Leicestershire on 10th to 12th June 2016. See this link.

Although it will only be the 2nd Festival to be held at this venue or under this name, this grew out of events staged by one of the home brewing forums but is now open to all home brewers. Event rules do state “no spirits” but I'm sure we can come up with a secret handshake.

If you also brew your own beer or make wine, I can whole-heartedly recommend this event.

OK, I will admit to owning a twisted set of morals.
I would not want to piss on a small brew event that stated "no spirits" by turning up with some.
Respect, and all that.
I am up for bottle swaps, meets or whatever, if time and location allows, Notwithstanding the strange ideas that some members of this site seem to hold, that it it is OK to be a member of the site, but you mustn't give out personal details to other members, for fear of something?
Presumably believing that you are safe and unknown to authorities?
La La land.
