just like to share my thoughts, so after 14 months of distilling using various different washes and yeasts and my trusty little airstill, it all seems to come out tasting the same after strip and sprit run and essencia filter, so what i am getting at is i think the essencia filter system is brilliant. :)

I just have to agree with you, the Essencia does a really good job of polishing off a neutral spirit.
If you choose to try flavoured spirits, then the Essencia sits on the shelf, but there is SO much to do with a good neutral.
Infuse just about anything, Tea-bags just sprang to mind, dunno why, other than it is late.
Have fun.

I've made green tea vodka and gin. And now that you have reminded me, I feel thirsty for green tea gin. The key is to use a good quality tea. I don't see why black would not work, if that is your taste.

A good neutral is important for a good gin

+1 to Mashy on the good neutral for gin, and +1 for the Essencia - I love mine ;D I think it's essential (pardon the pun!) with the AirStill.

I occasionally use the SS EZ inline filter (cartidge thingy)
