Special offers, sales and bargains
Re: Special offers, sales and bargains
When 'Get Er Brewed' were doing Castle Maltings Château Whisky Malt, its phenol range was around 36ppm. They also offered a 'crushed' option on this line.
Their present offering from Crisp's Malting is a whole grain with no mention of the phenolic range. Even Crisp Malts own web pages omit to give any information on this aspect.
Whilst considerably cheaper, it doesn't appear to offer what I'm looking for. But thanks for the pointer.

You could always talk to them, they seem to be a nice bunch of people.
And I don't think that they have a hotline to HMRC.
(But this website probably does.
)
I have had recourse to speak to them in the past.
I really should organise some peated malt for myself soon, and if their website stays as is, will certainly Speak to them, as I would want it crushed and to know its Phenol content.
Robert.

So far as I am aware, 'Brewers Friend' is a forum and a source of advice and utilities but don't actually supply ingredients.
I'm not actually looking to join another site.

Thanks Mash
A fascinating, even bewildering range of malts there.
They do offer 25kg & 1000kg bags of unmilled Peated Malt.
Unfortunately, the description offered for the 25kg bags is a web error I think, whilst that offered for the larger quantity makes no mention of the phenolic range achieved.
There isn't a milled version of the peated malt available that I can see.
I do know that I can already source a high phenol, milled, peated malt. I am simply trying to source a cheaper product if at all possible.
Maybe there isn't one.
Cheers.

JTF are doing a big heavy glass biscuit barrel (no pattern). Probably 8-10 litres. £7.99
Ideal vessel for soaker recipes. Seal would replace easily.
