Birdwatchers recipe should i carcoal filter or not

I just made 2 batches of birdwatchers. One with all white sugar and one with white sugar and molasses.
I distilled the molasses one with my airstill and have cut it to 40% and I can taste the molasses.
My question is if I charcoal filter it will I lose the molasses taste or will I still have that after.

The charcoal will,(or should), strip the Molasses taste from the spirit.
That is the reason for using charcoal, to give a spirit as neutral as posssible.
HTH.

That's what I was thinking. I used molasses for flavor. But didn't know if it would remove all of the molasses flavor or leave some it. Thanks.

It won't remove the taste of blackstrap molasses. I've tried. And tried. Blackstrap is forever. ;D It should work OK for regular molasses. Well, maybe.

Yeah I was surprised. Though carbon removed everything. But I found cleaning up gin doesn't seem to be part of its repertoire either.
Juniper is forever too. :-[
