Hi I forgot to separate the heads from spirit run now I've got two and a half liters with heads.

Aye I think I would run it again, dilute to at least 30% as the alcohol separates better as CC pointed out to me

Ta,

I think the abv is about 70 odd so if i dilute to 4 litres id get about 35%. Given that, any idea how much heads id expect to collect?

250 - 400 ml. The first 250 is heads for sure. After that, I collect in smaller jars and keep what I like the taste of.

MM: If you had 2.5lt at 70 and add water to make the vol up to 4lt the ABV will be 43% which is a little high for the Airstill if only from the point of view that it makes separation more difficult.

IMO 30 is best for a spirit run and allows for relatively easy separation of the heads.

From experience, if its a sugar wash 250ml will be right but taste check using a teaspoon with a few drops of water on and collect a few drops of distillate from the outlet after the 250ml and mix before tasting. Check for no burn on and under your tongue then spit and rinse - don't swallow! No funny remarks lads! :D :D :D

Personally, I'd dilute to 6lt and split that into two 3lt runs. Much cleaner output - but that's me ;D ;D ;D
