spp in the super reflux
First attempt with spp,I loaded the little column with a small part of a stainless scrubber to prevent the spp falling through then added about 0.25 ltr of spp which brought the level to the cross over pipe i also put a small bit of the scrubber in the cross over pipe to prevent the spp getting in the condensor( this stuff gets everywhere)with a wash of 12% abv it didn't manage to achieve azeotrope but did reach 94.8abv after temp correction and with 1400 watts of power managed to deliver 1.1ltr per hour so overall im happy with the results.if i put 1550 watts to the boiler it will do 1.45ltr per hour at 93.abv pretty good for such a small column.

That's pretty good going. What is the length of SPP you are using, 8" or so?
I'd be interested in the results with a boiler full of 30% low wines.
Azeotrope can be tough to archive with a full column with a boiler charged with wash. With 39" of scrubbers I could only get 95-95.2 those last few points I could not get without having a higher ABV charge.

Hi capt just doing the spirit run and as i thought just the same result as when ditilling wash even if i slow the output below 0.8ltr per hour it's just shy of 95 abv .still overall i am happy with the spp, abv up a bit and output also increased

Good job on teaching an old dog new tricks! Is it correct that the cited power output is for the hearts run only and that power is reduced to compress fores and heads?
DId you purchase the spp at Stainless Stuff. If so, was there a minimum order requirement?
Thanks!

I got it from Manu and only purchased 0.33 of a litre, could have got away with 0.25 but it leaves some spare as you loose some every time you use it.
