Hi Robert well said. No offence taken I was merely suggesting that there are easier routes to achieving your objective. Speak to you later

lol, I do think I've taken a lot on for my first build tbh... but well well, I worked out so far Ive spent around £60 on it so not too bad :)
The main headache is going to be reinstalling the top ( hours of dremeling ahead I fear )
But once its done, its done :)

Heres the lip I will grind down and hopefully.... everything crossed..... it just slips on like a glove after :D
If not I'm going with Ice's idea of flattened 15mm pipe, rivets and solder :)

Well.... a complete u-turn for the time being with the still - ended up using a tea urn with ductape securing the lid, and bricks...... and the wifes clothes airer to steady the condenser!

Not pretty but she worked :)

It also looks like the brother of my air cooled condenser.

I forgot to say black grouse, your wife is one understanding lady, looking at what you have done to her (?) kitchen.
Also, the occasional needed shortcut won't arouse too much criticism on this site, here we tend to live in the real world, whilst striving for utopia!
Loving the bricks,I have done similar in the past.
Indeed, while wondering what the gum from duct tape might add to your product,(and betting that it will be a bugger to clean off the sticky residue from the urn)I do remember that my first Aluminium keg still, nearly 30 years ago, relied heavily on gaffer tape,as it was called then in the world of TV rigging.
Just trying to say,get yourself sorted soon, and use materials that are considered safe with stilling.
I may have escaped from some of my old escapades unharmed,or maybe I didn't,and that is why I am,as I am.
These days I try to use a little more thought/care.
And would advocate safety to all.
Does that sound like a lecture? Sorry,it is late.Time to go.
