Forgotten joys of an Air still
These days, I tend only to run the Smart sill for Gin.
Trying to tidy the place up today, I had a couple of failed infusions to deal with.
I combined them, ran them through the Smart still and have an interesting result.
A neutral with just a hint of Peach and Raspberry, (the failures),and all acomplished quickly.
I may yet carbon filter the product, for now it sits alone.
But I am now reminded of just how well the air still deals with small distillations.
Robert.

Re: Forgotten joys of an Air still
Our Airstills are much under rated. They are a no brainer for the newcomer to operate, safe, and can easily be left to run while doing other things. Also capable of keeping we more experienced distillers happy.
Well designed bit of kit.

I bought another one - preowned £60. Now twice as fast. That and a freezer, I can beat a T500 hands down.

I have been doing it for five years,

I continue to use it, albeit with a modified column when after neutral at 93+%.

Re: Forgotten joys of an Air still
Had a think about it, I will never have room for a bigger still, but if I get rid of some of the stuff that I haven't used in the past year or so, I should be able to squeeze in a second Air still. Christmas is just round the corner.

love my AS use it a lot. Great for small scale
experiments, gins and small run requests.
I will never part with it.
Used with skill and care you can do all with it.
