I have found a way to speed up the run with the SS,what i do is fill the still up with a kettle full of boiling water and cover the top of the still then the next part i read ina post from quiteman, which is to put the wash in a electric kettle and warm the wash while stirring it all the time until it gets to 60 celcius, then empty the water out of the still that is now nice and warm inside, put the wash in then start up this way i have found the run starts about 20 mins after switch on and is all done and finished in an hour and a half as i only collect 700mls from each run.

Optic , Yes when iam doing my water i put in boiling water from the kettle to the 4 ltr. indent/mark then just plug and play so it cuts down on the warm up time by a good 1/2 hour ish. CHEERS

nice idea about using boiling ater i never thought of that.

we get a lot of limescale in our kettles here because of the harsh water, i bet keep ours clean ;)
btw if oyu want to clear you kettle of scale fill it with water and a heap of vinegar leave it to stand for a few hours then wipe it out with one of those plastic scrub pads, pour out and biold water a couple of time to get the smell out.
