Kale & Golden syrup wash???

Postby Icefever » Tue Mar 08, 2016 1:44 pm

OK...has anyone tried a golden syrup wash??? along with the kale juice??.

The reason I ask is, most who try the kale wash say it's so clean...I'm yet to find that out for myself...it's slowed right down now will check the hydro tonight.

Therefore if one takes the next step...will any brassica do??? and if it makes a clean wash what would be the outcome say in a GS wash??...I have 3 x 7.5kg of GS and thought about trying it...a nice clean white rum. Would the taste differ I wonder??. Image

This is a question indeed.
I believe any Brassica may do the same as Kale.
Quite what mixing it with GS wash will do is another; probably cause the wash to finish a while earlier than without, due to extra nutrient.

I'll wait for the corn mash and the kale sugar wash to finish and then I'll run a side by side wash & see what comes from it'

I'm just being cautious :D I don't mind £3 of sugar..but £10 of golden syrup...the piggy bank is giving me a dirty look... ::)

There is a site (whfoods.com) that throws up a comparison of brassica varieties. Shows that (like men in a nudist camp) all are not created equal. FWIW......

I said I was going to run a GS & Kale, today's the day...7.5 kgs GS and kale juice has just gone into a bucket.

Checked after 20 mins and it's off like a train..

Image

The SG was 1.100..hope that's not too high, as I go for nearer 1.080..could add a liter or two of boiled water & bring it down...while I'm on about SG/FG my last kale sugar wash has finished at 0.098...I can't remember the last time that happened.

I hope to strip that wash on Friday...If I'm ok...off to the dentist :-\

It does finish well IME. I am not sure what to think about this. Looking forward to hearing the outcome.

Thinking about it now...I'm going to add another two liters to bring down the SG.

Good stuff mate, have always wanted to try it in a rum, I've thrown some leaves in a rum once, as a passing thought, don't recall it doing much lol, but always wanted to try some kale juice in a rum, will try it on my next rum, you've inspired me!. A dude from nz does a gs rum, says it's really nice http://www.coppercustomstillcomponents. ... lden+syrup. Good luck, looks like it's off to a good start!.

That is looking good, and I also would dilute it a little, that was a high SG.
I would pay daily attention to Ph also.
But it is your baby..
