@ Seagull.
I would like a Grainfather for beer,
Would also like to fit a 2" Crystal
Dragon on the top.
Now there is a thing of beauty.
Just dreaming :P

Seagull wrote:I've never made beer but I do have a Grainfather. I bought it to use fir whisky and brandy distilling as opposed to beer making. To my discredit, I haven't actually used it yet.

As you can probably tell, I'm a bit impetuous when it comes to buying things.

My main aim I suppose is for a larger capacity (even though I can't get through what I make with the T500).

What I love is using the equipment and making the product most. I love the idea of a larger still and was entranced by Odin's beautiful creations.

I like making both neutral and want to get into whisky and brandy properly - at the moment it's essences mainly.

As you can tell I don't have any real direction, more just excitement for new things.

Love it.
Love it.
Love it.
Next time I try and sprinkle reason & logic on you, you have me permission to tell me where to go. The spirit of adventure is everything. I get that. I too make more than I drink so I get that too :)

My wife did suggest to me that I should have an ebay password to complex to type when drunk :D

I appreciate the wisdom and logic Mash and frequently need a wake up call. I just rarely surrender to reason and logic! A small bonus is coming to me at the end of October and it needs spending!

Now that's nice and convenient. A little expensive IMO, but as with all off the shelf kit, that seems part of the price we pay due to the nature of this hobby........

I thought the other parts he makes have some potential even though a bit pricey, the work that must have gone into this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172348578203 is hardly reflected in the cost let alone the material costs...

I must admit I have to agree with you Gad....there's a few hours work in that. Then there's the cost of the copper. I do like his copper ferrules tho.

This guy is good... Really knows his stuff. Also built in the UK.

I don't think they are £££ when you consider the work involved.

Lovely idea, but I cannot afford the time.

I 'ave 300l of wine to finish next week, A Christmas beer to get started! Garlic to plant.... the list goes on and that's nothing to do with earning a dime.

Yup grow my own Garlic (amongst other things). We have seed from Isle of Wight.
