Flavoured Beer??
I know a number of us came to this hobby via home brewing/wine making.
As I've said early on we visited a brewery while away last week, when we finished the tour we had the chance to sample some of the brews.
Now Bateman's have won 1st in beer competitions....one of the beers they make is a Hazelnut Brownie....it's a 330ml bottle of 6.3% chocolate beer. I admit I've drunk some weird concoctions in my 67 years.....but I must ask why o why does anyone want to brew a choc beer???.
to my taste buds it was just all wrong.
I know we're all different, some like this...others like that...but I now know that I categorically do not want any more... the SWMBO says "don't look upon it as tho I'm an idiot...just look on it as an experimentation".

I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Why not ? makes for a good port/sherry/dessert type fortified wine. Nice fruit but with some reasonably light spices.
The fact it looks like a bucket of diluted vomit during the making, as the fat separates out, is a "non-issue".........

Bang on. Fermenting vomit is clearly a skill I don't have ☺

Personally I am a lover of the various Chocolate Stouts that I stumble across.
Odd, as I don't desire to eat chocolate any more.
Just saying.
Robert.

I don't stumble over chocolate stouts. At least not before I've consumed them.....
But on flavoured beers there are flavours of the kind crafted by Innes and Gunn, up in the North end of Britain. Very nice....

I'm glad that the wares of Innes and Gunn are making it to your part of the planet.
I can take or leave some of the flavours they produce, but a wee 330ml bottle of the red labelled 'original' version of their beer remains my favourite lunch-time tipple.
One of these days I will bother to learn how they oak age beer,it does not compute with my own ancient beer making days.

Re: Flavoured Beer??
I know folk whom choose to put, say, coke, in their hard-earned whisky prior to a quaff!
Thus, I am not surprised 'someone' likes stout tasting like chocolate, real ale with hazlenut added, etc.
The thing is, I dont have to like/drink 'it'.
That'll do me.... and cheers to all those who do, otherwise the world would tip over (courtesy of the same mass taste direction).
