Check the thread 'Copper Column' in the T500 section, good place to start! :)

Jack,

Welcome to the forum.

I recently went through the pain barrier of finding a suitable connector for the T500 and ended up making a couple of Pot Heads like this.

This one has a lieberg condenser but once you have the column sorted you can add whatever condenser you like, including the worm that you suggest.

If you want talking through a build / what parts to use or even some practical help then just let me know.

That is one deep deep parrot Brian.

I had intended to copy your cups but haven't gotten around to it yet. I've been too busy trying to get my VM and other bits finished and making more washes for my pot. Busy, busy, busy, ;D ;D ;D

Aidan,

It's not a deep parrot at all - the bottom half of the vertical leg is just a support to get the parrot's beak at the correct elevation to suit a demijohn.

I cut a 20mm disc and soldered it into the spirit chamber of the parrot just below the inlet pipe. The bottom half of the pipe is always empty.

strangely enough that is exactly what I asked. YHB very cleverly made them with a compression joint between the pot head and the condenser (in the 'horizontal' section so yes you could very easily fit a thumper in (as I intend to do)

My soldering skills are far from good also - but I wise man once told me, if you don't have time to build a still, then you don't have time to run one either. ;D

YHB,
it seems that you are a profound copper master and people look to you for advice. how hard would it be to hook something like this to a 15.5 gallon keg type still? thanks in advance for your time and help!

What would you connect to the keg? The T500 condenser or a pot still head? If the latter, then a 2" triclamp and gasket would work in combination with an easy flange or 2" ferrule.
