Nope. I wouldn't - But then I'm too tight. :)

If you want to see it running half fill it with water and a good glug of vinegar ( & coinage)

This will be a good practice and it will give it a good clean. You will also hear the coinage rattling and learn what normal is (You can hear it coming up to the boiling point)

Know how ya feel. Hate waiting for a wash to ferment out. You'll be production line fermenting before long I bet!

I just dine a 15 litre wash in a food grade bucket. But think I'll get the 50 litre conical and the 30litre conical on the go tomorrow.

Check out the youngs
Wide mouth fermentor. You might find them far more user friendly & cheaper than a conical.

They lift easier and wash up well. Best WITHOUT a tap.

A wee update on how I am getting on with the still. I Have made 2 washes one all grain using up Maris otter malt that I needed used up and one birdwatchers sugar wash. I Have double distilled the MO wash following the pdf from this site. It was a 15litre wash and I ended up with 3 bottles which I'm pretty happy with. One bottle I mixed with a gin essence and its pretty good tastes like a whisky gin. The other 2 bottles I've got in large jar with some raspberries and sugar which I'm going to macerate for a month then drink, hopefully turns out good. For the sugar wash I have bought juniper berries and coriander seeds and I am going to make sputnik and hopefully make Odin gin.

Glad to read that you are doing stuff.
MO gin may not have been my choice for the spirit, but hey, it sounds interesting.
Wishing you more fun with future washes.

Robert.
