Z or EZ filter?
Well, my first attemps at filtering have been shall we say, a wee bit on the messy side, but eventually they all turned out fine.
Has anyone used both the Z and EZ filters? and if so does the EZ do as good a job as the Z?
The guy in shop said that the Z was far superior to the EZ, but is it worth all the hassle?
There\'s got to be a point where the pain in the arse factor out weighs the end result.
It definatley wouldn\'t win any awards for ease of use.
So far I\'ve had to use a large pair of adjustable wrenches and PTFE tape to get it to stop leaking, and as I said to the guy in the shop \" one day it will end up going through the f#@k*£g kitchen window\".
He\'s offered to swap it for an EZ if I want, so you can\'t say fairer than that.
So, Z filter or EZ filter, what your opinion?

Forget all the plastic filters and buy a Fuselex.

Full size one here is called Spirit Filter Master (this is what I have) its about 4 foot tall.
Or the Nano inline
Both would be much better and easier to use.

Z or EZ filter?
Hi Andy, Never knew that thing existed. Just looke it up and you can get them in the UK for £46.85. I am going to get one as I have thrown the Z out and made my own. Yesterday I ordered the EZ filter and 2 cartridges to adapt to my buckets. Are the quite fast at filtering for me filtering is the worst part of the hobby. Thx for the info. Tissard know how you feel glad you aked the question. I mentioned it sometime ago and one of the guys recomended the EZ but will now get The Fusilex in my next order.

Z or EZ filter?
Happy to share info when I can Short.
All filtering is slow, thats how it works but the Fuselex wont leak or leach plastic crap into your grog.
Like I said I have the huge thing so I cant say how easy the Nano will be to hook up but once done its done.
Best part is the carbon doesnt lock you into a \"pack\" that only fits a certain device, buy a pack from anywhere and chuck it in done.

Has anyone actualy got the nano version? and if so what\'s your opinion of it?
The fact it only takes around 100gms of carbon has got me thinking about how good it really is.
On the other hand, if it\'s design means that it does as good a job as the Z filter while only using around half the carbon, then you can\'t argue with that.
And before i forget, i\'ve read so much about reusing carbon and from what i can tell, in laymans terms it comes down to boil it - rinse it - bake it. Then someone told me to run boiling water through it again when it\'s in the filter to reactivate.
Or have i got it all wrong and it\'s not something that works particularly well in practice?
