Was scratching my head over the earlier references here to locking birds up :-\
Then when Mash posted above the penny dropped. :-[

Today we decided that the Geese were getting the shittiest end of the stick and dispatched them.
These were never intended to be for xmas; we have Turkey's from last year still living in the freezer.
The Geese have now gone into the same White Hole, to lose all identity, until the lady of the house agrees to eat them.
Someone really should do a parody of "Stand by Your Man!"

Robert.

And the idea of freeze stripping?
Currently running four freezers here filled with meat, no spaces.

I had never come across the freezer affect of identity loss until we did some ducks a few years ago.

While plucking, a mate mentioned it to me .. Followed by the question "does it worry you?" I replied "no" towit he replied "nah me neither - I could eat them between to lumps of bread now!"

I recall a nephew from about 20 years ago that wouldn't eat fish, but was fine with fish fingers, because they lived in the freezer and did'nt have eyes....

I just got back from a few days all inclusive in Spain, booked at the last minute and have 2 x 25 litres of canuca to distill.

The San Miguel was a bit gassy for me but the "free" house rum was Cañuca Dorado (golden) or Mel (the honey equivalent) and both were very decent and went down a treat. £50 a day for 2 people and the room and food were fine.

Depending on prices from your regional airport, I'd say 2 people could have 7 days all inclusive in the Algarve for around £350 for both of you in January. Those without chuckens to look after would also save on their heating bill while away.
