Take it easy and get a "feel" for the kit...one step at a time...
Do you have a wash ready for it??.

I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Get some copper bits in the boiler, flatten some pipe off cuts or pre 1990 1p coins, copper washers or whatever you can get your hands on. You will learn the sounds from your still & what's going on in there, when it's going to start producing etc

I have a wash that just needs clearing.
Have a bunch of non magnetic copper coins ready too.
I'm used to using the T500 reflux column but realise that this is a totally different beast.
Must take it slowly and have patience - I'm crap at patience!!

What is the construction like? Thickness, rigidity, weight?

Re: Alembic copper dome and condenser has arrived!!!!
To my untrained eye, I'd say pretty damn good.
The condenser has a decent weight to it and the finish on both parts seems high quality.
I was hoping to be using it very soon but just took a reading on my turbo wash and the damn thing is stuck on 1010.
Impatience may lead me to start an Alotec 48 wash. I guess that stuff is frowned upon but it never fails to ferment right out for me and I want a wash quick!!

Gonna put it on the standard T500 boiler first and practice on that before popping it on top of the Grainfather

Looks solid enough. Just look the first time you fill the condenser with water, to see if the weight causes any changes.

Word of advice
Dead easy to get the seal badly seated when you clip lid on resulting in alcohol fumes and steam blasting everywhere when you get up to temperature
Easy to check simply once lid clipped on blow back through condenser with your mouth to make sure it's sealed (before switching on of course !)
