If you are using bread yeast higher temps should be
ok. I keep mine at 26c same as Ice and no probs so
far, fingers crossed.

Its a bit hot, particularly if you have not cooling and its been the hottest April days since.............
Did you rehydrate the yeast or sprinkle?
Can you drink your tap water?
Is the inside of your kettle furry?

Ok chaps ,I did start off lower temp 25c I upped it over the day or so to try and trigger a response.like gazza pointed out bread yeast does not mind higher temps thats why I tried it.my kettle in answer to mashes question gets very scaly we live in a very hard water area.we can drink it .and I sprinkled the yeast left for a few mins and gave a good stir.
I'm away now until 1st may so will find out when I'm back if it worked .
Do you recommend the sprinkle yeast method or another way.

Sounds good so far.
I wonder if the problem is air. Yeast starts off needing oxygen.
Do you whisk?
Did it go it the fridge straight away?
Is your cold water really chlorinated? or did you use the hot tap?

I blame that bugger Murphy.
Sometimes one of my usual three fermenting vessels throws a wobbly, for no reason that I can fathom.
Two are as good as gold and the third is the spawn of Beelzebub.
