favourite proprietary tipple
How many favourites can you have before joining AA or needing a mortgage.
I used to be a malt devotee then I discovered bourbon and now I'm getting hooked on blends.
I've gone through the Scotch, Irish, American and Japanese offerings and love them all.
Is it possible that I may have a drink problem or is life just good.

For some reason this post appeared in two identical threads so I just deleted one. I'm assuming Opus wasn't just wanting to see double.

Opus,I struggle to name my favourite tipple these days.
It can depend upon the heat, the degree of humidity, the time of day.
But,yeah,life can be that good.
Robert.

Bought a bottle of Whyte and Mackay 22 year old blended last week. Verdict "Gorgeous"
Trying a Ballantine's 17 year old next.
Realising a bit late in life that blendeds aren't the poor relatives of the single malts. Never too old to learn.

As my chief tester has pointed out, blends have far more complexity than a single malt.
Offering more to a discerning palate.
The trick is the blenders nose :- and how I wish I could educate mine to that standard!

This is the closely guarded secret to step 1 of training a "Distiller's nose"
You take a copper scrubber and form it like a pipe cleaner, stuff it up one nostril & give it a twirl, then do it again to the other, take them out & snort 2 lines of activated carbon dust, take a shower cause you'll look like a coal miner after you stop sneezing.
Now put on a kilt & chase the haggises through the heather, nodding your head & shouting "stitch that" & "see you Jimmy" whilst beating it with a large brewers spoon to loosen up the pollen, taking big breaths through the nose.
When you stop sneezing this time you will have successfully cleared the sinuses.
Step 2 to follow when I sober up again

You have to go for the three legged ones, cause they run round in circles.
It also helps if you know their mating call "tha gaol agam ort".

Just had a worrying thought, is it haggis shooting season? As I don't want to get done for poaching as well as cross dressing.

Cross dressing isn't an issue your side of the water either Aidan. I've seen them with the screaming' handbags.......
Commonality is that all look like IKEA barstool shoplifters, but the northern chappies look like they're suffering collective embolism, your lot look like they're doing the funky chicken
For my proprietary tipple, I like to head south, to the land of the stripey jumpered, beret wearing, garlic scented bloke called Mr Armagnac.....
