Home built stills

Postby Runningman » Fri Oct 05, 2012 5:10 pm

Hey Guys this is for Mag, Panna & Jed. Pics of stills Ive built for myself. Im no plumber but with a little care and attention its possible. See what you think. Large tower is VM for neutral and smaller one is new pot still constructed last night with copper from JMT.

Very Nice. The Harry Jackson Cross Flow Condenser on the VM looks very well done, I'm not surprised one bit that it was a bugger to build.

Is the VM a VM/LM combo. looks like there is a needle valve on the external reflux return? Do you bleed the heads that way?

Hi Capt C your right on both counts. Crossflow is difficult to build and it is a VM/LM combo. Only use the LM side to bleed off fores/heads and then switch to VM for hearts. Speak to you later.

Great looking kit.

I am in the process of adding a VM take-off to my Bok, having seen your combo, I am hoping that you might give me some tips on how to drive mine when its finished.

Hey RM, nice gear. I especially like the way you built your pot head.

Hi Capt C and this is the big one. And if anyone tells you to build a Bubble Cap (Flute) Still then I can assure you its a nightmare build but a good still to operate

AAARGH!!!

Don't tempt me. Please, Please don't tempt me.

That looks really great, I want one.

If you can build one of them you can build anything. What next? an Inter-galactic Mega Cruiser?
