The still design from the OP is based on a legit design but it has very limited use. Made with other materials the origional concept was for a solar powered water distiller.
You can use it as a low power strip still if you intend to then run the product through another still to nake cuts.
It has very limited application though and if you build it you won't use it for long before moving up to something better.
