New distilling conditioner

Postby Corps012588 » Thu Mar 13, 2014 12:58 pm

Has anyone bought any distilling conditioner recently?
My new bottle arrived this morning and whereas all the bottles
Previously have been a slight milky colour, this new one is completely white!
Also the destructions on the new bottle say to add 3 capfuls instead of the usual 1

Mine looks pure white like your new one but says to use only 1/5 of a teaspoon for 25L! I overdose my airstill by adding the tiniest drop I can get on a fingertip.

Yup your right corps...the new bottle that came with my T500 the other week is white and says add 3 caps.... ??? but I asked about using butter & oil a while back....Link here

Perhaps they think we'll use more so buy more... :D :D

Great info, nice to know that there is a cheap alternative that is already in the kitchen.

Is that teaspoon for an airstill or a T500 size still?

a teaspoon full for a T500, i suppose it would be about the same for an airstill.
i also have a length of stainless chain in the boiler to prevent surge boiling

Its called shrinkflation they have probably just added water to it.Its the first signs of inflation in an economy, the manufacturers, reduce the size of whatever they are selling, but keep the price the same. Eventually they also put the price up.

Its happening all over the place ,smaller loaf, smaller chocolate bar etc.But I wont be buying anymore anti foaming liquid, I will just use a tea spoon of veg oil, thanks for the tip!

Regards Lucky.

Am bringing this old thread to the fore again. Really for
all you newer guys. There is an age old debate about should
or should not. Thats not what I am on, those who do, SS
Conditioner is ummpteen pounds ten and six for a weedy pot.
For the same price you can buy 2ltrs Spry Crisp n dry oil.
1tsp in your T500 perfect and have used for the past 2 years.
Only problem Her in Doors keeps nicking it to cook my chips.
All monies saved send to me for further training in my drinking
skills ;D
Rather have a full bottle in front of me

If you are flush with cash, butter also works, for those that do. ;)

I've stopped using it. Don't have any problems with the still burping.
