apart from £2 difference a go (or there about) what is the difference between the ss classic and ss top shelf flavouring's??

There is a bit more essence in the classic range,two 36ml sachets,compared to a 50ml bottle in the top shelf.

I guess the difference is in the taste.how much different im not sure.

i personaly find the classic range a far superior flavouring and definitely worth the little extra,

I always allow for the cost of the classic ones. Taste-wise, they seem a lot nicer. Whether that\'s because of the actual amounts you get or not I don\'t know - but they just taste better.....

Im with Phantom and Hoppin on this one the classic range is more of a sipper and the top shelf is for throwing down your neck or experimenting with

I bought a SS classic tennessee bourbon pack today,and found it has two 27ml sachets,when previously i had used a SS classic american bourbon essence with two 36ml sachets...interesting.

Anyway,i mixed one sachet with 1125ml of spirit and it looks very light in colour compared to just about any of the bourbon essences i have used,if not all.I have put some spirits unlimited JD chips in with it,might darken it a tad,and see how it turns out.

just so you all know apparently the ss classic range is changing, rather than flavour 1125ml of spirit, the new pack size is designed for 1L ...... apparently they are dropping the price to keep it all in ratio.

are all 1125 bottles going to 1000ml bottles world wide.

That sounds like a good idea.have way more 1L bottles than 1125s these days.

That will be a shame if they do .... i often use the left over part bottle for mixing with something else or just experimenting with.eg part bottle kentucky bourbon same of scotch malt and 40ml of cafe maria is a really nice warming mix on a winters day when fishing.

Just tried the SS Classic / Premium / Finest Reserve / Whisky.

32 mL sachet added to 1 Litre of 50% double distilled.

Left it in the bottle for a couple of weeks first.

I don\'t claim to be a \'Malt expert\' but I love \'Glen Livet\'

This stuff is a slightly different flavour, but I can\'t fault it.

Just realised what might transform this to 10/10.

Add the 32mL to just 40% double distilled, 1 Litre.

Will try this next time and leave for a month!

Might be a lot smoother.

Alright .... going from what ive heard, the SS Classic range are actually infusers requiring a minimum of a week to chemically infuse with the alco, where as the SS Top Shelf range are food flavours and will be ready to drink straight away after mixing. This is noticable with the gin flavours. Now, again from memory they are slit into 2 packs for the reason that they have an alcohol trace in the packs to help kick start the process and as a result the two packs are more designed to get around certian legal issues and having to say that they have traces.
SS also have a 1L range for the SS Turbo Air Still, as the still only produces 1L @ 40% per distill, so they released a range to match.
comparing this to the Essencia range, I am of the understanding that the essecia range is completely infusing but doesnt have the alco trace, requiring longer maturity.
Should note that the volume of the bottle of packet doesnt imply that there is more flavouring, its just more \'filler\' ..... but that said if you try the SS origianl range which makes 5L per 50ml bottle, the Classic range kills it for dead
