E-cigs and Vaping

OK, my friends, we have discussed this before.
I gave up the dreaded smoke sticks two years ago,and switched to E Juice.
That was easy.
The way of using E cigs so replicated smoking that I did not miss smoking at all.
Just before Crimbo I decided two years was enough time to kick those too.
I picked a bad time,as my cars gearbox died, and it has taken a month, and an awful lot of effort, phone calls etc, to get the thing running again, mostly due to a shitty carrier, that didn't deliver.
I am mobile again, but boy, is not smoking/vaping still hard.
Even now.
I just want to make anyone going down the swap vaping for smoking route, aware that vaping will help with not using tobacco, but it will lead to it's own problems in giving up regular smoking.
You may think that aiming for Rhubarb and Custard flavour with 0% Nicotine is the way to go, but the thing in the mouth, the hand fiddly thing, the cloud of smoke and all of the other subtle nuances are harder to break.
The smoking habit.
The only way That I can describe it,because even nicotine chewing gum struggles to help.
Vaping continues to help stain your teeth also....

OK,I'll get off my Soapbox.

Robert.

My wife went from 0‰ flavours to just glycerine.

That helped. She just gone bored with them!

I tried just glycerine.
Like a low alcohol beer shandy, pointless.
Left me climbing the walls...

That's was the idea.
Slowly reduce the nicotine
Then reduce the flavour
Then it's pointless.
... So she gave up!

Or put another way...

You need to stick a pointless for a while to really appreciate it.

I disagree, you put a pointless smoke stick in your mouth, in public or even worse, in private, and you feel like a complete knob.
Then you have the urge to go and do a real one.
I am resisting that, and I have some only a couple of steps away from where I now am, and who would know?, but it is hard.
My warning is intended for those that believe giving up smoking using E-cigs will be a piece of cake.

I'll just pour another drink....

Surely if you feel a complete knob it puts you off doing it again?

I can only assume that you have never been addicted to anything, and then given it up?

Why do people think that giving something up is easy ?

The addiction of smoking isn't just the nicotine, it's also the fundamental action/habit. The action is "hand to mouth" which we've all been doing since we were weaned off mummys' tit.

Some people can just stop. They have better will power than me.

Personally, I've moved from basic e-cig/vaping, to bigger batteries and "sub-ohm" tanks which has enabled me to reduce the nicotine levels a lot. I mix most of my own e-juice now and have got to 6mg nicotine.

Next will be 3mg juice, then probably a visit tothe 1mg level before going for 0mg.

Once that's sorted, I can worry about changing it to reduce the flavours to straight glycerine so I can get bored with that.........

Will my master plan work ? Dunno, but moving from coffin nails to vaping, is at least a step in the right direction.......

I hear you and feel your pain. Stopping the habit is no mean feat.
Been a heavy smoker for 46 years, decided to quit back in october,
for various reasons. Took to vaping to ease the withdrawal symptoms.
It's not easy but i'm persevering with it at the moment, dont have
the urge for proper cigs but i'm hammering the juice.Hopefully it'll
get easier in time.
