Filtering with Carbon
Hi hangover I do a similar thing except I put the alcohol through the filter @50% then flush the carbon with a litre of water to flush any alcohol out, as it needs diluting to 40%ish it makes no difference.

Filtering with Carbon
Carbon does work better when it has been wetted first, according to the info I\'ve seen before anyway. One good tip is if you pour cold water into the filter until it starts coming out of the bottom, that means that you\'ve saturated the filter. Note how much water you\'ve poured in, that\'ll give you some idea of how much spirit you\'ll pour in before it starts to come out. Once you\'ve run the spirit through and collected it, you\'ll have the carbon soaked with good liquor. If you slowly pour in warm water, you should be able to feel it working its way down the filter, and that should tell you roughly when you\'ve flushed out all the spirit.

Filtering with Carbon
Attached is a link for a pdf for an \"Essencia Carbon Filter\". I found it interesting particularly the suggested amount one cartridge will filter.
