Re: T500 water connection
i got some 15mm copper pipe and soldered it in and then i run it from the hose pipe.
i never run the hose on full but turn it down to almost a trickle and i can control the water flow perfectly.

Ooooo, now that's clever.
If I did that I'd be able to run a hose to wherever I wanted the still instead of having to run it in the kitchen and having to sit in there looking at the walls for 5 hours.
Will DEFINITELY do this. I'll post some pics of it running in tribute to your genius.
Kudos.

Wineworks have for about a fiver a screw in adapter for the needle valve which supposedly fits 3/4 BSP washing machine taps, in fact it has a 20mm thread which is close and can be forced on 3/4 BSP but is not ideal and I wouldn't do it, the last thing you want is for leaks to develop when your half way into a run.
A better option is to solder a short piece of 13mm copper pipe into the little adapter supplied with the needle valve, shove a hose pipe on the end and jubilee clip it.
If you cannot easily get a hose pipe to it then a self cutting tap adapter, with 3/4 BSP thread, set into the nearest cold pipe, available at B&Q is, the way to go.

You can then use Hozelok fittings on the hose to connect straight to it, better still use a compression fitting on the short piece of copper and go straight into the tap without any hose pipe.

Just another thought on water supply, I was lucky in that the faucet tap accepted the needle valve assembly as the book says
What I have done since is to solder on a 21/2 inch nail to the valve to to create a miny lever tap which I find makes fine adjustment of flow much easier and even gives a visual indication as well
Works for me !
