Hi BB
I know how handy you are. Why not construct your own still. Many have here with great success and Im sure that many would chime in to help you if you got stuck. Go on man get it on.

I looked at those when I was considering buying a still. I'd think carefully about the design of that vs the cost and what else you can get. FWIW it ended up pretty low on my list.

So the favourite choice of most would be a new beer keg that can be polished up to a good finish.
So to reiterate on this you'd say this is overpriced and not the best system?

Someone previously mentioned NEW for £75.
30 liter SS milk churns on ebay for same.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. Not good value.

Thx Mash.... Reality check received...
My mate who has a dabble himself has made this, say's he'll rattle me one up at cost and a pint...
What do you think?

Just need to get a few designs now and pass them to him...
Anyone rate bubble caps? Like the look of those...
Also would I benefit from a 3" or 4" pipe instead of 2" running from a 50L keg?

Re: Might "Splash the Cash"
I'm just worried about the title of this thread.
BB is renowned for being frugal. Splashing cash is definitely out of character.
Eat all, drink all, pay nowt.
See all, hear all, say nowt.
I thought that was the Yorkshire creed.
Could your mate make me a pot head for my T500?

I know this guys work as I've seen it before...the cost is very good John and if he's going to do you one (for cost + pint) then go for it.
I also know your work....from you building your brewery....so it comes down to how deep is your pocket lad???

I tried to be normal once, worst two minutes of my life.

Re: Might "Splash the Cash"
Don't want to over do it as you'll be aware but it's always nice to have a nice rig to play with...
trouble is with this game it's not something you show off unless they're a trusted person.
So i'm thinking of a new 50L keg now at around £70.00 with a cheeky copper column then maybe a bubbler section one day?? So working on this basis I might have the column made into 2 sections with a connecting clamp then when the time is right make a bubbler...
Any thoughts on this idea ye pro's?
