I ordered some rice hulls from http://www.home-brew-online.com today, 99p per 200g bag was the cheapest I'd seen online. I had a quick browse through & some things are a few quid cheaper than most places, fermentation buckets for less that £8 caught my eye too

I have some of these ferment bins, the bins are ok
only just 23 lts not a lot of room for degassing,
but the lids are flimsy I suppose thats why they are cheap!!
Cheers Benoit just trying some of my gin. :)

I prefer the 25L Wide Neck Wine Fermenter - they go on forever and seem to do everything.

On my buckets you can clip the tube to the rim and stays in place where as the wide neck needs to be held in place.

Clips do work of both. I probably use a different clip - these ....http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5-x-2-Mini-Sp ... SwjVVV3wiT

and Phantom you know i use these too.

Just BRILLIANT on the end of syphon hose.

Ah, I have a mini-jet for pumping and an Enolmatic for vacuuming and any filtering needed......

Enol-magic. Just brilliant.

But I don't filter so the mini-jet didn't present a good case to my inner Yorkshireman.

Well, you guys are just so technical, I get by with a length of tube, some clothes pegs and some Bulldog clips.
And I may live in Scotland but don't feel that I trump a Yorky here! :)

I used to use this to empty the old double boiler.
Just screwed it into the fill port, 1 quick puff of air to start it off then syphon took over.

Then I connected up a foot pump tyre inflator to speed things up.

Used the same arrangement on the wine fermenters, just removed the cork for the air lock and fitted an air asisted syphon in its place. Easy.

They come in loads of sizes really good. I find the jumbo ones are like having a second pair of hands when I am pumping or siphoning will 1 inch hose. They regularly get stolen to other jobs around the place.... just really useful.
