double coil for 2" pipe

hi all
is there anyone in the uk able to make me a 8" double coil condenser for a 2" pipe ?
with the price of copper here i really dont want to waste money on trying to diy one
myself , what with wastage and the like.
i have a t500 but want to add a boka to it no probs making that just need a coil

anyone help ??

There's a number of guys on here who have the T500, so I'm hoping that one of them may be able to help you.

I know everyone else likes them, but do you really want a slant plate Boka? Alex did design many other variations which I personally think are better.

It is just personal choice, and I am not saying there is anything wrong with the slant plate option. I just wish to check that you have actually considered some of the others, before you commit.

yeah i have checked other types of still head the boka is simple and effective easy to detuned for whiskey / rum , work within your limits ( if i can get a coil ).

There should be no need to have a double coil in a 2" pipe. Single will be fine. The inside coil of a double in a 2" pipe would be real tightly wound.

Single coil with a stainless pot scrubber inserted will work fine.

Has anyone monitored the temp of the outlet water when running an LM Boka still with a 200mm double coil in a 2" column.

You can build double coil and coldfinger condensers to fit into 2" tube if you really must. You do not need to for this particular application, but here is an example.

Have you thought of using convoluted stainless hose instead. There is a user called dad, that does just that.

No need to monitor the coolant temp when running a non CM-still. Just run it so that the output is hottish, and no vapour is escaping. Monitoring the coolant temp doesn't tell you anything when running an LM (or VM)
