Funny you should say that Ice, he offered to do that for me and I declined. ??? silly me.
Might take him up on the offer.. 8)
He buys a sachet with nutrients and yeast in and then bungs it into the sugary water... Am I better just doing a lentil wash with Allinson's yeast or the one I've seen on here with raisins?? or buy his tried and tested??

Think he said his wash is around 18%

Do it exactly the way he does it for the first 10 runs. Maybe 16 if he is using Vodka Star, there is usualy a price break for 16 packets. Then, when you have spirit in stock and can afford a disappointing result, try doing it 'your way'.

I do think that assuming a non-turbo would be disappointing is completely the wrong way around.

They may not be quick, but I personally do not think the the product is disappointing. I have always found bakers yeast recipes give a superior product. Particularly the wheat wash.

Apologies if my meaning was misconstrued.

I tend to assume nothing when doing something new, for good or ill. Usually with this hobby, there is some kind of a drinkable result even if things don't go fully to plan.

However, there is a chance that results MAY be disappointing if it's something new, so no harm in having some decent product stockpiled just in case.

imo Vodka Star is not a turbo, that's just marketing blurb. It works well enough for me to not even consider using anything else.

John51,
Your post may have been misconstrued, but Mashy's was difficult to understand.
On re-reading it still doesn't make much sense,I think that I understand his point, but I have had a drink or three, maybe he had done similar!
