KA VA LAN

Has anyone tried this Single Malt Taiwanese whiskey?
I was given a bottle last week as a major thank-you for a favour.
Apparently it is an award winner, and costs circa £60 a bottle.
Sadly I find it as indistinctive as my own single malt attempts.
Easily drinkable, but unexciting.
Happily the second bottle in that package was a Laphroaig Triple wood.
Now that is what I wish I could make.
Maybe one of these days....
