First wash still fizzing away after 7 days!!

I started my first wash exactly a week ago, and it's still fermenting like a good'un! I was hoping to run it by now, but it obviously has other ideas!
I'm thinking of starting another recipe, but can't decide on which one....
I hate this waiting...my fault, should've started this ages ago. Just don't want to be without something to run in the future.....

I have to agree.
Brew buckets are fairly cheap, and so is what usually goes in them.
Buy many, if you have the space, and let them do their work.

My impatience got the better of me! I ran the two gallons of uninteresting wine yesterday, (actually, about 1/ 3/4 gallons, I'd been drinking it!) and got 900ml of 62% brandy from it!! My first run, and I'm so pleased!
Sorry if I sound like a kid with a new toy, but that's exactly how I feel!
What an amazing experience, seeing my product filling the glass jar for the first time, all out of a still that I built!
I erred on the side of caution, threw away the first two fluid ounces, and kept the next 5 to use again with the tails, but still ended up with nearly a litre of drinkable stuff.....which, if I dilute it down to 40%, will give me 1.2 litres, or 2.11 pints!! .woohooo!!!
The smell in my shed was a heady aroma of spices.....

Thanks guys! Something I noticed.....I just had to sample the brew, didn't I? Anyway, usually, after a few whiskies of an evening, by the time I'm ready for bed, my head is thumping a bit already, and I don't sleep well. But last night, after a "few" drams of shine, my head was as clear as a bell. I did have a bit of a wobble on too! And, I slept like a log! Also this morning I felt unusually good. So it's a win win as the saying goes.

I checked the sg of my mash today, and it's reading 1037.....that's after 10 days fermenting, and it's still going strong! There was never any krausen to speak of, but I can see it's working well. I've noticed the corn meal falling to the bottom gradually over time, leaving a thin, milky looking liquid.
Does everything sound ok to you more experienced guys?

Yup, everything sounds fine to me. I found that unless the temp is high (painfully haigh if you are a beer brewer) a wash takes awhile.

I found exactly the same when I started drinking my own stuff. As long as I stay hydrated I can drink and bottle and wake up fine, I have been know 2 have 2 glasses of wine and wake up with a banging head.

You will never get a krausen with sugar wash. The krausen is a protein foam from the malt. Sugar a purely carbohydrate.
