Anyone tried a "Shreddies" wash?

As per title. I've seen cornflakes, weetabix, sugar puffs and porridge oats mentined, but not Shreddies. I was in Tesco ealier, and I tend to browse the cereal aisle lately, with the sole intention of getting ideas for a wash, and happened to see shreddies, "with malted barley", so thought I'd ask the question. ;D

If anyone here has, then it will have been YHB a long time ago.
TBH, I would expect breakfast cereal washes to all turn out pretty much the same.
But what do I know?
They will all make good yeastie food, and allow a little flavour of something to pass into a pot distillation.
Don't let me put you off trying it.

Robert.
The guy who wouldn't spot a subtle nuance if it slapped him in the face. ;D

From my experience with the AirStill and breakfast cereal washes, you would have to be near dead to miss the "nuance" they provide. It tastes more like the cereal than Whiskey, but might be interesting with JD chips. I drank it, but moved on quickly. The results out of a proper column would be entirely different.

I've used branflakes in the past, and very recently, I use half a box, crush them up in a large pan, cover them in boiling water so they turn to a mush.

Then add them to the fermenter once you've dissolved your sugar in a few litres of boiling water, then just top up and add yeast when the temp is ok, I find it works well for neutral, but I don't use an Airstill, I use a reflux column, I'm guessing Shreddies will give similar results.

I've used All Bran as a base
A whole box (350g I think) from
memory result OK ,but Kale soooo
much easier :)

I like the subtle taste the wheat adds compared to kale

Yes no doubt on that, it makes much better vodka.
Still better to use flaked wheat for that.
