Follow the instructions on the packet exactly (21 litres @ 35C, 6kg sugar, stir, add yeast) give it a good stir to get some oxygen in. No need for turbo carbon. Just use clearing agents after its finished fermenting (and you have given it a good degas).

With a nice constant heat, you should be all done in 10-12 days.

That's all I did, and mine is looking very promising.

Clearing works better in cold conditions, but make sure you rack off the lees (sediment) BEFORE you degas, and degas BEFORE you use the clearing agent! :)

yea mate i racked it and degassed the hell outa it before adding the turbo klar last nite and its looking good already, gonna give it a few extra days in the garage anyways to get it as clear as possible.

iv still got a bucket of triple still carbon stuff sitting in there, which was degassed but not racked, had 3 doses of turbo klar in it too lol. its gradually clearing now tho.. its been in there nearly a few weeks, few more weeks should do it i think lol.

gonna stick to the vodka star i think, cheaper and less hassle i think...

I use Vodka Star all the time, granted I am in QLD/AU but I never have a problem.
6KG Sugar, 21 LT Water and leave the bugger alone for 3 weeks and its all good to go.
It never gets "clear as water" clear, but a rather reddy clear slightly cloudy but can see the bottom of the fermenter clear.
Edit to add: I never use carbon or turbo clear.

just an update, its cleared beautifully now, im very happy.

once thru a distiller this will be 60-70% right?

so how much water do i add to 70cl of that to make it 40%?

im a bit slow with th maths as well haha

That will depend on the type of still you have.
An air still or smart still will give you 60% but a T500 will give you 93 - 94%
