STOP! Internet shopping is just too easy and if she comes in and finds another bubbling monster in the corner I won't be able to make enough spirit quick enough to keep her quiet.
Elderflower Champagne spirit as a test, Kale Wash Gin then onto a sputnik I think.

Oh ok then!
I won't mention how good the Braumeister is and its very shiney.
.. And I won't mention that the "brothers of the wash" approve of all things shiney

Hmmmm. They are shiny...................
Airstill arrived this afternoon so I think I'm going to see if I can turn my foul elderflower champagne into something a little better, tomorrow. Early success might lead to more shiny stuff
Kale wash steady at 25c and going like a train, very consistent.

ok first batch underway. Only 4 ltrs though and not enough of the foul stuff to do another 4ltr batch. when it is done can I pass through again diluted back to 30% even if it is only just over a litre? Or should I wait until I get some more to go with it?
I am seriously considering using some of the leftover shop bought wine from christmas to make some more as i am so desperate to get a batch through. Sod the expense, this is a hobby not a business!
Mash, our pennies are magnetic, are you based outside of the UK? I will get some copper pipe cut up. (might be a good time to get her used to seeing copper lying about anyway. Good cover for future fabrication forays

)

Mash is talking about UK coinage, but you need to look for older pennies up to 1991.
They switched to copper plated steel in 1992.

First run complete. I stopped it after 750ml which is at 53%.
Just put on a run of white and red wine.

So second run done and took off 800ml from the wine strip @56%.
So by my reckoning I dilute the 750ml @ 53% with 570ml to get to around 30% and the 800ml @56% with 690ml.
I assume I am ok to mix them together for the spirit run?

Older coins (1960 and earlier in Canada) are copper. New ones are steel with plating. As an alternative, get a section of copper plumbing pile and hacksaw off rings.
