if you are making a few AG beers already - I am a quality drinker, not quantity drinker and you will find it makes you want to use it . It makes you want to experiment.

And if you cost it against the amount of beer you would have bought, I worked out mine out at 8 runs and we are even. So mine is paid for - ages ago!

Love your outlook! ;D

Love my braumeister dear but it works

It works for grain washes plus full beer wash production as you would expect you can let it get on whilst you do other stuff plus sparging and cleaning are a doddle

It looks like he's now making and selling a kit with all the parts you need to build a fully programable controller for €89 plus delivery, well worth the investment in my opinion, just a shame I have so many projects on the go and barley enough cash to fund one of them :(

The more I look at the braumeister, the more I want one!!!

But I can't justify the price, however I'm getting quite motivated to build one :)

I'm going to go with the braumeister concept of pumping the wort up through the malt pipe, I e-mailed BrewUK asking for the size of the 50lt short malt tube, it's 28cm high and 36cm wide, I'm going to measure my 50lt thermopot tomorrow and if it seems like it'll be a good fit, I'm going to use the Official braumeister malt pipe and end filters, it comes with the bottom seal so that's one problem solved already, then it'll be a case of getting a 2.4 kW bendable heating element, finding a pump and getting the Italian controller, my budget for the build is £300-£400

I think I've got a good chance of pulling this off :)

Well bloody good luck to you on that project, and if it comes to fruition, lots of us want to know the specs.and hows. Not least Speidel Braumeister.
I seem to recollect you were recently delivered a small, pink Winston Churchill.
I have been meaning to ask how the blighter is,but equably would like to point out that these items are considered trade-able in the modern world, and if you are wishing to swap a sleepfilled night for a Speidel Braumeister, that may only be a couple of clicks away.

I came across this series of YouTube's recently.

Might be worth the watch.

If you were building. There are hints and tips you could steal from them.

Go for it..if you hit the price range that's a big saving....as I said before I've spent hours building up a list of parts and where to get them.
I didn't think about buying the malt pipe I must admit.. ::) If you do build one don't forget to post about it on here.

I know - this is something I struggled with...
There was two or three points that made me think, a couple from my wife!

How much time is it saving me over a 3v setup. Time I could be doing something else because of a BM is semiautomatic (the only one that is) This is why I bleated on about the controller. It's true value is the fact it can be programmed & left.

How much time will it cost/ or spend building it, & then refining it?
And there is a risk if it fails, or does not get finished (not ever ever ever ever ever done that before :D )

What is the cost of my time?

Financially - if I bought the same amount of beer. It would perhaps be 8 - 10 brews before I broke even.
23l brew = 40 bottles @ £2.50 = £100 - £10 ingredients. Profit £90
10 Brews £900

Sometimes wives can be surprising. I certainly would have struggled with the decision more. my other half made it easy.
