It's a home built pot still Seagull, with a 54mm x 24" column, running into a liebig about 30" long, consisting of a 15mm tube going through a 28mm tube. My boiler holds a max of about 4 gallons, so I load it with about 3 gallons at a time, which is why I ferment in 6 gallon batches, (hark at me, sounding like a seasoned 'stiller, only on my third run :D !!)
As to the question of running it through twice.....well, yesterday I ran the second 3gallon batch, and threw in, half a gallon of corn wash that I had sitting around, and about half a litre of the day befores tails, if you can follow that? I know that isn't what you meant, but I thought I'd include it for interests sake!
Anyway, as to doing a proper stripping/spirit run....I'm not really inclined to yet....and I'm not really sure as to why, maybe it's the extra cost/work of stripping the still down and having to reheat it all again...or perhaps I'm wary of losing what little flavour I have to start with, or a combination of all of the above....dunno, maybe one day..... :-\

Checked the SG of the ginger beer wash this afternoon and its down to .900 and seems to have finished. Its not dry either, tastes divine! I'm out tomorrow and Tues, so if it hasn't changed on Weds, I shall be running it! I'm very excited about this one! I'm going to be popping into the HBS in Burton, and if theyve got any more ginger beer extract on offer, like the other one was, I'll buy the lot!!
